I only ever once carved a pumpkin and was less than impressed with myself, so I gave up on it
The carving can be horrible but it isn't that difficult. A lot rides on the desing that is carved. So if the desing is good the result is also good. I think simple is pretty - and easy
Actually at the time it was still just a pumpkin. Started carving it just afterwards. I was really nervous that it would become one of those catastrophes we were talking about...the kitchen sure looked like one afterwards
