The Bauta

I found an old sketch book from a few years ago. I haven’t used markers since so I’m still as unskilful as then…I’m not even sure where my markers are.

The Bauta is a Venetian mask/costume. The costume was made to hide the identity of the wearer. They went so far as to make a mask that you don’t have to remove to eat… Imagine a big round table, everyone wearing a heavy black cloak, everyone with an ivory white mask, eating and plotting without knowing who’s the guy sitting next to you…
