beer bread by Neidonkorento beer bread by Neidonkorento
Real art! Beer bread! Made from real beeeer!

Mom says it's bearably toast. The holes are just small enough not to see through. BUT it's goood! - I mean the bread not the holes. And it smells heavenly! :giggle:

Recipe:
300g wheat flour
300g fine wheat flour
2,5 dl pale ale
4 tablespoon olive oil
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
40g honey
20-30g yeast

Mix the ale, the yeast and the honey together. Mix everything else together and add the ale mix. Knead dough well. Let it rest for 2 hours.

Now don't knead it. Shape it as you please. Let it rest a little more (1 hour). Bake in 170C for 25-30(for loaf). If you use a mould remember to oil it!

Looks tasty. Do you have a preferred beer. I noticed you say ale. But any particular type, brand or flavour in particular?

I think you can use any type you want. The original recipe said to use blond beer. I don't really know much about different types of beer...you just have to try which ones makes it taste best ;) I usually use some Finnish brands, Lapin Kulta mostly, but I don't have a favourite. Still it has never been bad.
